The Los Angeles Rams quickly turned into one of the more fun teams in the NFL during the 2023 season. Can we expect another improvement from them in 2024? They have everything they need to make another leap. The coaching staff is excellent, the roster is filled with young, promising players, and they have an elite QB.
There isn't much more that a team needs. Now more specifically, a winning team that can sustain success and play games deep into January need the QB, coaching staff, the ability to get to the QB, and the ability to protect the QB. Fortunately, the Rams have all of that and then some. Rams fans, the 2024 season could be another special one.
But just why can the Rams build on their 2023 season in 2024?
3 reasons to expect another leap from the Los Angeles Rams in the 2024 NFL Season
Reason No. 1: Matthew Stafford is elite until he isn't
From Week 5 of the 2023 NFL Season through Week 17, Matthew Stafford threw 21 touchdowns against just six interceptions. During that stretch, he earned a 99.2 passer rating and was sacked just 21 times in 11 games. Well, that stretch averaged over an entire 17-game season comes out to 4,228 yards, 32 touchdowns, and nine interceptions.
Matthew Stafford is an elite quarterback until he isn't. Now set to enter his age-36 season, there is reason to begin to worry about when the decline will hit Stafford. And even as a huge fan of his, it's only a matter of time before the decline comes. Well, until that decline does impact him, he's still an elite passer.
And he was proving just that in 2023 after a shaky start to the season. The team went on a 7-4 run in Stafford's starts during that stretch, so the team was humming, and it was led by their veteran QB. There is no reason to believe he cannot start the 2024 NFL Season the same way he ended last year.
