II: Edge Rusher

There is a lot of interest in the LA Rams pass rush. For that reason, it does not feel right in simply providing one option for the position. Why not explore a second option as well?

While former Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Brandon Graham has seen his share of NFL competition, he still has enough gas in the tank to put on one or two more good seasons. He is a veteran defensive end, and he could be a solid veteran replacement for the vacancy created by young DE Jonah Williams. Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 265 pounds, Graham has played a 4-3 defensive end for much of his career.

But he is strong enough, versatile enough, and powerful enough to step in and help out this team's defensive front as well.

Graham played just 395 defensive snaps in 2023, and I believe that is fair number of plays to look from him if he is added to the roster. Even in that limited role, he was able to put up 16 tackles, 3.0 quarterback sacks, six QB hits, four tackles for a loss, and even deflected a pass.

Graham is the type of player who plays bigger in big games. He recorded 1.5 QB sacks against the Dallas Cowboys (an NFC East Division rival). He put up a sack against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs. Like Clowney, he is not a permanent solution. He should be viewed as a stop-gap measure to platoon with a 2024 rookie pass rusher as well.

Graham played for $5 million with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023. I don't think he is done with football just yet. Surrounded by young enthusiastic Rams defenders, I believe that he could rediscover his passion for the game.

Estimated salary cost: $2.8 million
