(2) - DB Josh Wallace

The LA Rams are looking for their fourth cornerback, and it appears that the 6-foot-0 190-pound rookie cornerback Josh Wallace out of Michigan will claim that fourth CB spot. And rightfully so, as he has been impressing the coaching staff from the moment that he had arrived to training camp.

The team may be on the lookout for a fifth cornerback, as there has to be some concern about both starting cornerbacks Tre White and Darious Williams durability. Both defensive backs have grappled with injuries. So a young rookie like Josh Wallace could have a huge role in the team's success in 2024.

Wallace has two tackles, and has allowed just one of two targets to find their mark. It was this evidence, combined with excellent performances throughout training camp, that has convinced the coaching staff to keep Wallace on the roster.

(1) - QB Stetson Bennett

The debate that has raged on among fans over whether to keep or cut second-year quarterback Stetson Bennett is over. The Rams have made their decision, and it may not please everyone. To be honest, I am not even certain that the majority of fans will be pleased with the news. But the team is not only NOT going to release backup QB Stetson Bennett, but he will be the team's backup quarterback for Weeks 1 and 2.

That was confirmed in the broadcast booth by LA Rams head coach Sean McVay himself:

Fans have harshly criticized Bennett throughout preseason, perhaps too vigorously. Many have cited his proclivity of turning the football over, and simply ignored what he brings to the offense on a positive note. In two preseason games he completed 41 of 69 passes for 437 yards, two touchdowns and five interceptions

In Game 3, QB Dresser Winn has gone three quarters, and completed just five of 11 passes for 38 yards. No interceptions, but just 38 yards. That's problematic when the team is trying to assess the quality of the receivers. Hopefully, those decisions have already been made.

It was always going to be Bennett. The team understood far more about his limits than fans it seems. And with a chance to compete on the roster on the practice squad, Bennett will hone and refine his skillset to be far more competitive in 2025.

It's going to be a hectic 72 hours after the game. You can stay abreast of the Rams roster cuts by checking in on our Rams roster cuts tracker. For now, the Rams are pivoting from preseason to preparing to face the Detroit Lions in Week 1.
