If this happens, it certainly won't be because he can't play; even in Year 10, Donald was still one of the best defensive players in football. His stats, basically across the board, were better this year than the one before, and he was named to the All-Pro team as well as his 10th consecutive Pro Bowl. But Donald reportedly has mulled retirement before, but decided against it because he didn't want to end his career on a bad season like the 5-12 one the Rams had in 2022. With this year's Rams team overachieving enough to be one of the NFL's feel good stories of the year, could one last playoff berth, even though it was a first-round exit, be a good enough ending for Donald to actually make the call? The guess here is yes.
