The LA Rams infused their roster with plenty of youth this offseason, adding a whopping 14 players in a historic 2023 NFL Draft class for the organization. That fell just one player shy of the all-time NFL record for the largest draft class.

With so many rookies joining the roster, the opportunity for young players to step up and claim prominent roles is plentiful. That's not exclusive to the early picks, either.

While the Rams undoubtedly have high hopes for their Day 2 draft picks, don't be surprised if a few mid/late-round picks push for playing time this season. That's good news for the Rams but not-so-good news for the veteran holdovers.

The following five players could see their playing time diminish or even outright lose their jobs to rookies this season. Let's take a look at five Rams players who should be on high alert in 2023.

5. Cam Akers, RB, LA Rams

Many expected the Rams to bolster their running back room this offseason, but to this point, the only addition the team has made to the position has been the selection of Zach Evans.

It's been a roller coaster of a three years for Cam Akers in Los Angeles. Despite this, the former second-round pick enters the 2023 season as the team's No. 1 running back.

Most expect Akers to split time with the undersized Kyren Williams, but don't be surprised if Evans pushes for playing time as well. Evans surprisingly fell all the way to the sixth round of this year's draft, but he showed just how explosive he could be at TCU and later Ole Miss.

I wouldn't expect Evans to be the Rams' lead back early in the season, but he will be given every chance to wrestle away playing time from Akers as the year goes on.
