The toughest year for any NFL player is often thought to be their rookie season. But you could make the argument that the toughest season for these five LA Rams second-year players is 2024. After all, they all seemed to bury the needle in terms of their 2023 NFL season performance.

The Rams are by no means an easy roster to crack for a rookie. But as the fates would have it, the team benefited from the influx of multiple rookies during the 2023 NFL season. Better yet, those young players delivered veteran-like production for the team, so much so that they were able to raise eyebrows throughout the NFL.

The trick is: Are they one-hit wonders in the NFL? Or will they use their fantastic rookie season to springboard to an even great second season?

V: A punter who has plenty of leg

While the performance of versatile multi-role punter/kicker Ethan Evans was outstanding for a rookie punter, he was far more effective at gross punting than net punting. The difference is the fact that opposing teams were far more effective at returning punts against the LA Rams than against an average NFL team. But that may change in 2024.

With his first NFL season in the rear view mirror, Evans can focus much more attention on putting air under his punts. Meanwhile, look for the front office to help the cause by adding a swift gunner or two to this roster.
