5 surprising free agent signings LA Rams could still make happen

2. The LA Rams could sign Melvin Ingram
Perhaps no position on the Rams roster is more unproven than their outside linebacker group. Third-round rookie Byron Young joins a depth chart that also features players like the oversized Michael Hoecht, Daniel Hardy, and rookies Nick Hampton and Ochaun Mathis.
The Rams hope that at least a couple of those players step up and earn prominent roles this season, but there is a serious lack of sure things in the team's outside linebacker corps.
That's where a veteran like Melvin Ingram could come into play. There are quite a few veteran pass rushers remaining on the market, but Ingram is someone who makes sense for the Rams.
The three-time Pro Bowler has bounced around over the last two seasons but can still provide value as a part-time pass rusher. The Rams could use a veteran outside linebacker like Ingram on their roster.
1. The LA Rams could sign John Johnson III
Michael Brockers isn't the only former Rams defender who remains a free agent. In fact, you could argue that safety John Johnson III is the most notable free agent left on the market.
Johnson spent the first four years of his career with the Rams, helping his team reach the Super Bowl with a key overtime interception in the 2019 NFC Championship Game.
The former third-round pick is still a quality starting-caliber safety who could definitely improve an unproven Rams safety room. The likes of Russ Yeast and Quentin Lake are competing for the starting job opposite Jordan Fuller this summer.
With one career start between the two of them, a reunion with Johnson makes plenty of sense for both sides.
