Ah, the pleasure of preseason football for the LA Rams is back. And if you have been tracking the outcomes of the 2024 preseason games so far, you've noticed the pattern of unpredictable outcomes and highlights from players who are viewed as rookie stars for the upcoming NFL season. But you may not see much of that from the team in Horns today.

Rather, the team approaches preseason as the opportunity to witness how far raw veterans and rookies have progressed in terms of simulated football games. In reality, that is all that preseason games have become in the NFL. Many teams like the Rams opt not to put key starters at risk of injury through the preseason exhibition games Those VIP players get there tuning-up sessions via joint practices and scrimmages.

And the Rams has already participated in two of those

Preseason is more about shining the spotlight on players who are not yet vital to the team's success, but are certainly considered to be vital contributors to the future. Whether that means the near-term future like TE Hunter Long (#84), or the long-term future like QB Stetson Bennett (#13), this is their time to shine for the fans.

And, of course, there are those players who fill unique positions on the team who fans are always eager to see compete, like punter Ethan Evans (#42) or kickers Joshua Karty (#16) and Tanner Brown (#49).
