Sneak Preview VII: Keep Kamren Kinchens on your radar

While the true test for any player comes when the pads go on, former Miami Hurricanes defensive back Kamren Kinchens is one player that I would keep on your radar throughout the team's minicamp. Almost as though this is a learning exercise in Sesame Street, one of these defensive backs are not like the others, and the anomaly is rookie Kamren Kinchens.

While there are times that standing out and being different is not exactly a good thing, for Kinchens and the Rams secondary, he is a wild card piece as the coaching staff tries to assemble a Thieve's Guild of ball-hawking cornerbacks and safeties for the upcoming season. And the lynchpin to the entire assembly may rest on Kinchens this year.

The Rams front office made it a point to add two veteran cornerbacks to the new and improved Rams secondary in veteran DB Darious Williams and Tre'Davious White. In the same manner, the team tapped into the 2024 NFL Free Agency market to land one of the hottest young safeties in the NFL In Kamren Curl.

But when it came to adding talented defensive backs to bolster the performance of the secondary, the Rams front office was content to call out the name of just one rookie throughout the entire 2024 NFL Draft, that of ball-hawking safety Kamren Kinchens. Just how good might Kinchens be in this defense? That is one of the questions I hope to have some clues about in minicamp.
