VI: Las Vegas Raiders

NFL rumors have linked free agent pass rusher Danielle Hunter to the Las Vegas Raiders for some time. Much like a scenario involving the Lions, the Raiders are among the Top-10 NFL teams with available spending money as teams ready for the 2024 NFL Free Agency market to officially open for business on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, and 1:00 pm PT.

New Raiders GM Tom Telesco has the means to do so, and HC Antonio Pierce would love to establish his team on the principle of being a tough-as-nails defense. What better way than to pair up Danielle Hunter with Raiders star pass rusher Danielle Hunter? While the Raiders have other places to spend their cap space, this would be a move worthy of now-passed owner Al Davis.

V: New England Patriots

While the New England Patriots did not show up on my radar scope, they most certainly did appear on that of Black & Teal contributor Carlos Sanchez's windshield. It was he who listed the Patriots as a team that would bid on the services of veteran free agent Danielle Hunter, and he makes a compelling argument. He argues that the Patriots are desperate for playmakers and that a team with the third most to spend in the 2024 NFL Free Agency market can certainly emerge with some.

And he's not wrong.

Like Raiders HC Antonio Pierce, New England Patriots new HC Jerod Mayo would love to establish the Patriots as a tough NFL defense, and what better way to do so than to add a premier pass rusher? Hunter wold not only improve the Patriots defensive line of scrimmage, but his added quarterback pressure would help a secondary that needs to reform for 2024 as well.

A new quarterback's best friend is a strong running game. But a new QB's best ally is a strong defense. Hunter is a huge upgrade for the Patriots defense.
