III: DT Braden Fiske

I believe that far too many NFL Draft analysts spent far too much time focusing on when the Rams selected former Florida State Seminoles DT Braden Fiske in the 2024 NFL Draft and what the team needed to give up to make the selection, and far too little time focusing on what Fiske brings to this defense.

Fiske is the guy who is never going to stop trying to make plays. And it is that energy level, that athleticism, and that pure intensity that will make this Rams defense so much fun to watch in 2024. Thankfully, one of the pace-setters for this defense will be Braden Fiske, despite the fact that he is a rookie in 2024.

The Rams certainly benefited from the unlikely agility and speed of NT Greg Gaines. But from all indications, Braden Fiske is about to take that athleticism to an entirely new level. At 6-foot-5 and 297 pounds, Fiske is already NFL-sized. While he is still early in OTAs, he is showing up on the football field like a Tasmanian Devil, a whirling dervish of chaos and calamity that is more than capable of disrupting NFL offenses from the first snap of the football to the final whistle.

What I love about the addition of Fiske to this team is the synergy that both he and Jared Verse will create for one another. Of course, that requires both players to put on quite a show throughout training camp and earn roster spots and playing time this season. Judging by early reports, both players are well on their way to doing exactly that.
