(8) Rams will have at least 5 different iterations of starting OL

We have not even gotten to the first game of the 2024 NFL season, and the Rams have already had more than a handful of iterations of theis offensive line. That's not a good thing to be trending. As you know, it was that lack of continuity on the offensive line in 2022 that spelled all sorts of disaster for the team.

But take heart, Rams fans. While the team will have different iterations of the starting offensive line, I don't believe that the group will degrade as a result. To be honest, I can see this team upgrading the offensive line over time. Here's what I mean.

Let's go with the most likely version of Week 1 for the offensive line, which will be:

  • LT Joe Noteboom
  • LG Steve Avila
  • C Jonah Jackson
  • RG Kevin Dotson
  • RT Warren McClendon

If Rob Havenstein heals in time for Week 2, we have:

  • LT Joe Noteboom
  • LG Steve Avila
  • C Jonah Jackson
  • RG Kevin Dotson
  • RT Rob Havenstein

But we know that if nothing else changes, LT Alaric Jackson will likely take over as the starting left tackle after Week 2 (more likely Week 4), at which time we will have:

  • LT Alaric Jackson
  • LG Steve Avila
  • C Jonah Jackson
  • RG Kevin Dotson
  • RT Rob Havenstein

But Jonah Jackson is still fighting through injuries, which could eventually lead to rookie Beaux Limmer taking over at center:

  • LT Alaric Jackson
  • LG Steve Avila
  • C Beaux Limmer
  • RG Kevin Dotson
  • RT Rob Havenstein

And then you have to take into consideration that Rob Havenstein is fighting through injuries as well, which could lead to his sitting out for a game or two, and could result in this configuration:

  • LT Alaric Jackson
  • LG Steve Avila
  • C Beaux Limmer
  • RG Kevin Dotson
  • RT Warren McClendon

Unlike 2022, a season in which the Rams were signing guys off the streets and promoting them to starting roles to plug injury-created vacancies, this year the Rams should have ample depth to handle the need to sit a starter out for a game or two due to minor injuries. And a Week 6 BYE could be a blessing in disguise with the team riddled with injuries out of the gate.

But here is another aspect of this BOLD prediction. Once Beaux Limmer sees action on the football field, he simply will not be benched. He will remain the starter, because he is that good.
