The LA Rams struck gold in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Rams cannot repeat the success of their 2023 NFL Draft rookie class. The Rams 2023 rookie class may the best group in recent memory. While we have all heard, read, or perhaps joined in lauding the rookies in 2023 in either online forums, comments, or in personal conversations, why don't we dare to pay it forward for the 2024 NFL season.
After all, it's not a crime to be optimistic, especially when historic facts align to suggest better days are ahead. After all of the history of the NFL, we have overwhelming evidence that suggests that the second season of an NFL player's career is often far better statistically than their rookie season.
And the Rams rookies from 2023 had superb seasons.
While some contend that the lack of experience on the Rams roster, particularly on the defensive front, could be problematic for the team, it doesn't fit the facts. Two of the best pass rushers on the defensive front were two rookies: OLB Byron Young and NT Kobie Turner. The best receiver of the team was rookie WR Puka Nacua. While they are both young and less experienced, their unfamiliarity with the NFL did not stop them from excelling in their first season.
Not only did their escapades prove the vitality of rookies make them capable of great things on this team, but they return in 2024 as experienced veterans. Will any of that make a difference? I think so. After all, they have already faced their NFC Western Divisional foes twice in 2023, and played 17 total games in the NFL as well.
What can you expect from the top rookies on the Rams roster in 2024? Some very good things, to be sure. LIke this, for example:
