The LA Rams are no strangers to marketing their sports entertainment wares to international markets and making their presence felt in those markets. So much so that the NFL has been gradually increasing their footprint by adding several countries per year to the NFL assemblage of countries who will be future sites of American football games.

The latest expansion is the addition of two European countries to the NFL GLOBAL MARKETS PROGRAM, as well as adding another NFL team to an existing market country. So let's start off this article by reminding fans which countries are assigned as target markets for the LA Rams organization:

  • Australia - The LA Rams share Australia with the Philadelphia Eagles
  • China - The LA Rams are the exclusive NFL team for China.
  • Mexico - The LA Rams are just one of nine NFL teams that share Mexico as a target market. Other teams include the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the San Francisco 49ers
  • New Zealand - Like Australia, the LA Rams share New Zealand with the Philadelphia Eagles

The NFL has announced the addition of two new counties to the NFL assembly across the planet:

FRANCE: The New Orleans Saints have been granted international marketing rights in France

REPUBLIC OF IRELAND & NORTHERN IRELAND: The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars have been awarded international marketing rights in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

GERMANY: The Atlanta Falcons are now the fifth club to be granted international marketing rights in Germany. The Falcons join the Kansas City Chiefs, the Carolina Panthers, the New England Patriots, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The program allows NFL teams to access assigned international markets for marketing, fan engagement, and commercialization opportunities. It's all part of an important, long-term strategic effort to enable clubs to attract fans globally while driving NFL fan growth beyond the US.

So what are the goals of this GLOBAL MARKETS PROGRAM of the NFL? The goals are to encourage and involve international markets in NFL events like the NFL Scouting Combine, and the NFL Draft, as well as participate in host country.
