You may think that the LA Rams 10-7 record in 2023 was as good as it gets. After all, the Rams were relatively healthy compared to 2022, and the team needed a full half of a season to get their act together. That, they did, as the team roared to relevance in the final eight games of the 2023 NFL season to end the year on a 7-1 hot streak.
Now prepare to be astonished. The Rams 10-7 record was good enough for the sixth-seed in the 2024 NFL Playoffs, but that was just the appetizer. In 2024, I believe that heat carries over into the new season, and catapults the team to the top of the NFC West Division. While we can list plenty of reasons to believe in that prediction, many fans are just too skeptical of this team, particularly so after the disappointing 5-12 finish in 2022.
If history repeats itself, this team is stuck in an eight-track loop. The team is entering Year 3 of their third 3-year cycle, and that has translated into a Super Bowl appearance in each of the last two cycles. If the same pattern holds for 2024, the Rams will appear in Super Bowl LIX. As of right now, I can see no evidence or reason why that will not be a real possibility for 2024.
Still, so far we have been the only site to be brave enough (or foolish enough) to make such a bold claim. But we are seeing other NFL pundits beginning to agree. One of whom is Sports commentator Colin Cowherd.
In a recent podcast of The Herd, Colin Cowherd made his way too early NFL predictions for NFL Divisional winners and wild card teams for 2024. To see what he predicted, here is the link for Colin Cowherd's predictions of 2024 NFL Division winners as well as three wild card teams for each Conference. To aid in your understanding, we have created a table for each conference:
AFC Conference | Division Winner | Wild Card Team |
---|---|---|
AFC East | Buffalo Bills | |
AFC North | Cincinnati Bengals | Baltimore Ravens |
AFC South | Indianapolis Colts | Jacksonville Jaguars |
AFC West | Kansas City Chiefs | Los Angeles Chargers |
The only team that I question right now is the Chargers. The will have a tough time claiming a wild card spot in 2024 over the Denver Broncos. So how does he see the NFC lining up in 2024?
NFC Conference | Division Winner | Wild Card Team |
---|---|---|
NFC East | Washington Commanders | Dallas Cowboys |
NFC North | Green Bay Packers | Detroit Lions |
NFC South | Atlanta Falcons | |
NFC West | Los Angeles Rams | San Francisco 49ers |
While I believe that the Commanders and Falcons will improve in 2024, I cannot see them winning their divisions. I do believe that the Rams win the NFC West. But will the Packers overthrow the Lions?
What are your thoughts. Do you agree with Colin Cowherd?
And as always, thanks for reading.
