The Texas Tornado

The development of third-year LA Rams defensive lineman Bobby Brown III has been largely anticipated, but it felt as though his six-game suspension to start off the 2022 NFL season really played a number on his growth track. So much so that it feels like he had fallen on the Rams' depth chart, and even now must work that much harder just to get back on track.

I love Rams DL Coach and Run Game Coordinator Eric Henderson, not just for his uncanny ability to get the most juice our of the players that he coaches, but over the fact that he won't rubber stamp anyone to play due to their draft position nor for their connections. He trusts the players who do step onto the football field because, quite frankly, he trusts himself.

Gotta love Coach Henny's love for a good challenge

C'mon down, Bobby Brown

Let's not forget that Bobby Brown III was an accomplished young man out of college, an interior defensive lineman who stands 6-foot-4, weights 325 pounds, and who has a knack at getting to the quarterback from his interior defensive line position. But so far, he has seen action in 19 games over two seasons, has 186 defensive snaps under his belt, and has three quarterback pressures to his credit.

He has been fighting the battle of on/off so far, but the runway is green lights for him this year. Keep in mind that even while he has been on the bench, he has been learning from Coach Henny, Aaron Donald, Greg Gaines, A'Shawn Robinson, and even Sebastian Joseph-Day. The LA Rams would not, will not, entrust him to starting role on this defense if he is not ready. If he is not 'there,' you can bet that others along the defensive line will be.

The Rams' defensive line is always prepared. The three Rams starters last season all fought injuries. Greg Gaines played 16 of 17 games. Aaron Donald played 11 of 17 games. And A'Shawn Robinson played in 9 of 17 games. And yet, the Rams' defensive line did not collapse. Bobby Brown has to step up and stay healthy this year because there is too much competition right now to give him another chance to do so.
