Game-by-Game predictions for 2024 Rams schedule release: Week 18
Week 18 - 1/5 - Seattle Seahawks at LA Rams
Even as the Seattle Seahawks finished with a record over .500 in 2023, the team was already making plans for life after longtime HC Pete Carroll. That could be a good thing or a bad thing from the LA Rams' perspective, as HC Sean McVay seemed to hold mastery over the Seahawks and Coach Carroll. The head-to-head competition was so lopsided that Coach Carroll poached the Rams coaching staff to find an offensive coordinator, Jake Peetz.
There is no coaching cross-pollination now that the Seahawks are led by former Baltimore Ravens DC Mike McDonald. The question is, will that benefit the Rams at SoFi Stadium in 2024 against the Seahawks? In a word, yes.
The LA Rams swept the Seahawks in 2023, and the Rams have gotten arguably much better while the Seahawks have changed their entire coaching staff. While the 'any given Sunday' rules still apply, this game should result in a solid win for the home team. Even as the Seahawks are gearing up for a rebuild on the fly, the Rams have spent an offseason fitting key contributors on both offense and defense. I am especially eager to see how many yards the duo running back tandem of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum can put up against their NFC West Divisional rivals.
The Rams' defense will be looking to whet their teeth on a formidable opponent to get ready for post-season, and the Seahawks fit the bill perfectly. They have a veteran QB, and a solid rushing attack, but the quality of their offensive line is questionable enough to look for some QB sacks. I believe that Jared Verse and Braden Fiske will have a 'How do you do, NFL?' moment in this game.
Even if the Rams sit starters for this one, they win.
Final Score:
Seattle Seahawks 13
LA Rams 33
Summary
After you go back and review the 2024 Rams schedule, the team ends the season with a record of 13-4. That should be enough to place this team into the coversation for the NFC number one seed for the NFL Playoffs. It should also be enough to propel the LA Rams to the title of NFC Western Division Champion.
The Rams are scheduled for five Prime-Time games: One on Monday Night Football, Two on Thursday Night Football, and Two on Sunday Night Football. While there are some quirks to this schedule, this isn't a bad one at first glance.
And this season, the Rams only face one opponent coming off their BYE.
As always, thank you for reading.
