Game-by-Game predictions for 2024 Rams schedule release: Weeks 6 and 7

Week 6 - 10/13 - BYE Week

While I am no fan of an early BYE week, this will give the team a chance to gather its collective breath, nurse injured players who may need extra time to rehabilitate back to health, and to gather their strengther for a long 11-game push to finish out the season.

Week 7 - 10/20 - Las Vegas Raiders vs. LA Rams

The Las Vegas Raiders are an NFL team that appears to be on the ropes in 2024. After a spirited 8-9 effort in 2023, the Raiders are banking on journeyman QB Gardner Minshew competing with QB Aiden O'Connell to lead them to the promised land. That is a tough task for new HC Antonio Pierce to ask of his offense.

Coach Pierce is a good guy and has done incredible work with getting players regrouped after the damage that former HC Josh Daniels inflicted on the team. Now, it will take time to restock the roster to suit the vision of Coach Pierce. That will not happen this season.

The Raiders are a gritty team that will have a no-nonsense perspective that will keep them in games that they would otherwise give up on rather quickly. But they are outgunned and outmanned by the LA Rams in this contest. In some games, everything seems to go right. That is the scenario that I foresee in this matchup. The Rams are a young and hungry team with something to prove, while the Raiders will give their all each week, but will run out of gas when traveling for this one.

The Rams have the prowess to defeat opponents by a thousand cuts, and that will start by pounding the rock again and again against the Raiders' defense. Kick at a door often enough and it will eventually burst open. The Rams will unload both barrels in this game, not only putting up plenty of rushing yards but also getting the bugs worked out of the team's formidable passing attack. This could be the best performance of the regular season.

Final Score:
Las Vegas Raiders 7
LA Rams 31
