Getting off to a hot start is vital for the LA Rams chances in 2024

While the NFL Playoffs are months away, it's never to early to put the playoff picture in the corner of your eye.

I: Rams early opponents are stiffest competition for NFC Playoff berths

The Rams face almost all of the NFC Playoff rivals who are likely to compete for playoff berths in the first five weeks of the season. While the team will have four more games against NFC Western Division Rivals after the BYE, the Rams face all five AFC teams after their BYE week.

Of the Rams final 12 games of the 2024 NFL season, early projections put the Philadelphia Eagles (Week 12 at SoFi Stadium) and the San Francisco 49er (Week 15 on the road at Levi Stadium) as the two other projected NFC Playoff contenders. Of course, the Seattle Seahawks could be in the postseason picture if they are better than expected this season.

The short and sweet of it all is that if the Rams emerge from the early part of their schedule with a solid string of wins that place them at a record of 4-1 or even 5-0, they not only hold an advantage over some very good NFC teams in terms of record, but they get the added bonus of holding the tie-breaker in terms of head-to-head competition. And while some scoff at the idea, think back to how that loss on the road against the Green Bay Packers played so negatively against the team last season.

It's never to early to have the playoff picture in the corner of your eye.

The Rams need to stay hot. As long as the Rams win, they keep their mystique and awe in play against their next opponents. With so many young players on the roster and so little known about them, the more mystique and uncertainty the team can impose upon their opponents, the better.

Got hot early. Stay hot. That is what the Rams must do in 2024. And yet, now having taken a look at this team, their opponents, and how they performed against them recently? It looks quite doable.
