The NFL equivalent of a walk-on

If you hadn't followed the sensational NCAA career of Stetson Bennett as the walk-on quarterback of the two-time National Champion Georgia Bulldogs football team, you are missing an incredible Cinderella story. But that is simply one chapter to his football novel.

While he was drafted with in Round 4 of the 2023 NFL Draft with the 129th overall selection, his NFL debut is about as close to a walk-on prospect can get and still hear his name called out in the draft. You see, right now, few are giving him much of a chance to do anything with his opportunity with the LA Rams.

And that is when Stetson Bennett is at his most dangerous.

What about his status with the LA Rams football team as final preparations are made for the 2024 NFL season? He remains a player on this roster, and GM Les Snead has confirmed that the team plans to onboard him for offseason workouts.

The comeback certainly has a chance of happening.

While the Rams are open to welcoming Bennett back, this is no blank check that they are giving him. He has to reprove himself. Everything from practice to attitude to comprehension to passion will all be put to the test by the team in 2024. The hope is that he did it once, so he should be able to reclaim a role on this team.
