The LA Rams, despite entering the 2022 NFL season as the defending NFL Champions certainly did not do a very good job of defending their title. Of course, when nearly a third of the team's annual salary cap is embedded on the team's Injured Reserve list, that is a clue that injuries had ravaged the Rams' roster.
But the LA Rams roster continued to contribute to NFL merchandise sales. In fact, three LA Rams players made the Top 50 NFL Players Sales list. Who were they?
Before we dive headfirst into the Rams players, let's pause a moment and look over the list as a whole. The top seller in terms of player merchandise was Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tom Brady. Not only has he continued to be among the top sellers in the NFL over his career, but his merchandise got a bit of a boost when he retired, and then unretired to play one final season for the Buccaneers. Of course, it didn't hurt his merchandise sales in the least when Tom Brady helped to produce the movie "80 for Brady," which was released on February 2023.

So what else can we tell you about NFL Merchandise sales before diving into the Rams sales leaders? Well, the highest non-quarterback seller on the list was Dallas Cowboys OLB Micah Parsons, who was the seventh highest seller from last season.
The top seller among the NFC West Division was San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, whose sales came in at 10th place. He was joined by four other players from the 49ers team whose names appeared on this list.
The Seattle Seahawks has just one player make the list, wide receiver D.K. Metcalf came in at 40th overall. And the only Arizona Cardinals player to make the list was quarterback Kyle Murray, who came in at 48th overall in terms of sales.
Rams merchandise sales did well, considering . . .
The LA Rams were represented by three players whose names appeared on this list:
- WR Cooper Kupp appeared as the 15th-ranked NFL sales
- DL Aaron Donald appeared as the 26th-ranked NFL sales
- QB Matthew Stafford appeared as the 33rd-ranked NFL sales
Curiously, all three Rams players who made this list have been repeatedly referred to as the 'weight-bearing walls,' of the Rams roster. And it should also be noted that all three players had injury abbreviated seasons, which typically depresses merchandise sales.
The good news is that the LA Rams have no intention of moving on from any of the players who have made the list. The bad news is that if you did not purchase the jersey of Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, or Matthew Stafford, your player may no longer even be with the team.
