It's no news to hear that the LA Rams are suffering from an outbreak of injuries early in the 2024 NFL season. From offense to defense, the teams ranks have been depleted by those nasty soft tissue ailments, and many of the team's starters have been assigned to Injured Reserve. Only special teams players have not felt the pangs of pain so far, until Week 3.

Earlier in the week, starting placekicker Joshua Karty was reported as having suffered a groin pull, and his status for game day in Week 3 was up in the air. That is a huge blow to the Rams chances,l as he has been one of the bright spots of the team so far.

While just a rookie, Joshua Karty has kicked three of three extra points, as well as three of three field goals for the team. While a small sample size, that is an excellent start to his rookie season. But can he suit up for Week 3? And if he does, can the Rams count on him to boot as effectively?

The Rams final injury report listed kicker Joshua Karty's status as questionable.

First things first. Is Joshua Karty playing today, a vital Week 3 contest against the LA Rams NFC Western Division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers? While we await word about the team's inactives, we already have strong indications that Karty is playing today. How so? The team signed K Tanner Brown to the practice squad as an emergency backup kicker. But when the team had the opportunity to elevate Brown from the practice squad, the team chose two other players.

It's safe to conclude that Joshua Karty is a full go for Week 3.

Now the question is, how effective can he play in this game with a groin injury? Well, the good news is that the team can always reroute kickoff duties to punter Ethan Evans in case of emergency. And kicking just three field goal attempts in two games, field goals have not been a primary component of this offense yet.

Hopefully, the outcome in Week 3 will not rest on Karty kicking a 65-yard field goal with time running out. But, you never know. So far, the 2024 NFL season has not followed any script.

As always, thanks for reading.
