So how optimistic are you feeling about the LA Rams upcoming 2023 NFL season? While some fans have become quite pessimistic, while others shine on in unshakable optimism, is there truly a 'correct' answer this year? After all, is it truly a test of fandom as to whether you do or do not believe in a murky future that is shrouded in a fog of uncertainty? Or is it the true test of fandom to cheer a team on in both thick and thin, regardless of how successful that you believe the team will truly be?
Well, I have a third option that I would like to offer up as a practical solution to the LA Rams fanbase. I believe that we can all look at the LA Rams and the 2023 NFL season like a box of Cracker Jack and the popular and mysterious prize inside each box.
Ah, but perhaps there are those who are unfamiliar with the once quite famous snack treat that was tied to America's pastime: Baseball. You know the lyrics to the song Take Me Out To The Ballgame, don't you?
Candy coated popcorn, peanuts, and a prize
"Take me out to the ball game, Take me out with the crowd.
Buy me some peanuts and cracker jack,
I don't care if I never get back,
Let me root, root, root for the home team, If they don't win it's a shame.
For it's one, two, three strikes, you're out, At the old ball game." - as per Author: Jack Norworth

The comparison is both simple and accurate. The LA Rams fans love the LA Rams, period. And the Rams are essentially the candy coated popcorn and peanuts that you get in each box. But just how well the Rams do this season is like the prize found inside of each box. Check out the video below if yor are not familiar with this legendary American treat, or its long history:
That prize could turn out to be something of little value, except for the entertainment factor for kids. Originally stuffed with coupons to exchange for valuable prizes, to metal figures like the game pieces to Monopoly, the company eventually filled the boxt with a plastic figure. But there were special prizes too.
Special boxes of Cracker Jack held baseball cards of the most popular baseball players. Those baseball trading cards are worth a fortune today. But the thing is, nobody knew what the box contained. Isn't that a lot like the LA Rams today? We love the Rams, but nobody knows what this season will hold. It could be a tough season with a good draft pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. On the other hand, if the Rams make the NFL Playoffs this year, that is quite a prize in the making.
Whatever the prize held in the LA Rams 2023 NFL season, the love for the LA Rams remains the same. And the best part of the Rams season, just like a box of Cracker Jack, is simply discovering what prize waits inside.
