LA Rams 2024 summer schedule is heating up with these key dates

We made it. It's the heart (and heat) of Summer 2024. And as much as we have missed the thrill of professional football, it's coming around the bend once more. The LA Rams have plenty to look forward to this season, as the team has found a way to flip the switch from tumble to climb. The team that had fallen to an 8-18 record from 2022 through the first half of 2023 has gotten hot, and is on the cusp of a winning 7-1 wave to the final eight games of 2023.

The team, and fans, hope that there is more success where that came from.

Well, we will quickly find out. You see, time flies when you are having fun, and we must all be having a blast, because the LA Rams suit up to play in their first preseason game in less than a month.

How can it all be happening so quickly? Well, the expansion of the NFL regular season to 17 games has helped a little bit. And the marketing department that aids in timing NFL unique events to keep football fans invested in the sport are geniuses. After the annual Super Bowl, teams have the opening of a new NFL Free Agency market, the annual NFL Scouting Combine, collegiate Pro Days, and then the annual NFL Draft.

But now we are talking about football. So what are the upcoming key dates to watch for?

So here are some important dates to keep on your calendar:

• July 23: Rams 2024 Training Camp at LMU begins
• July 25-Aug 3: Open dates for fans to observe Rams Training camp sessions. Please take note that ALL SESSIONS ARE SOLD OUT but you can still sign up for a waiting list.
• Aug 4: Rams hold joint practice at Los Angeles Chargers
• Aug 8: Rams hold joint practice at Dallas Cowboys
• Aug 11: Rams host Cowboys in first preseason game
• Aug 17: Rams will play at Chargers in second preseason game
• Aug 22: Rams hold joint practice at Houston Texans
• Aug 24: Rams will play at Texans in third and final preseason game
• Aug 27 at 1:00 pm PT: Deadline for all NFL teams to reduce their roster to 53 players.
• Aug 28 at 9:00 am PT: Claiming waived players expires. Teams can now begin signing players to their 16-man practice squad
• Sep 8: Rams open their 2024 NFL season at Detroit Lions at 5:20 pm PT on Sunday Night Football.
• Nov. 5, at 1:00 pm PT: 2024 NFL Trade Deadline

As you can tell by the above dates, we are at the edge of another football season. The Rams season begins one week shy of two months. It certainly feels as though the team, and the players, have a lot to accomplish quickly.

While they do, the team has gotten it all done in time before. And this is a rejuvenated football organization that has rediscovered that there is no substitute for pure passion for the game. The LA Rams are about to embark on another season, and it stands to be a thrilling adventure for fans once more.
