And then there is All-Pro DL Aaron Donald

Of course, any mention of the LA Rams defensive front, or pass rush, has to include a discussion of veteran All-Pro defensive lineman Aaron Donald. In past iterations of the Rams defensive front, the Rams had burdened Donald as the primary pass rusher for the Rams defense. While that has likely not changed, Donald has been playing a much more strategi style of rushing the passer in 2023.

And he is having a lot of fun in the process.

Perhaps one of the most frustrating aspects of Aaron Donald's dominance on the defensive front in the past had been the fact that his domination allowed lesser players to win their one-on-one battles at rushing the quarterback. While Donald remained with the Rams, those players leveraged the "Aaron Donald effect," into a lucrative contract to play elsewhere.

The difference that exists with the 2023 LA Rams roster is that many of the team's top performers are rookies, and will compete alongside Donald through 2026. That fact alone allows Donald to enjoy his teammates production, as he knows that they won't abandon him in the following season.

Aaron Donald plays his best game under the brightest spotlights and on the biggest stage. Look for the venerable pass rusher to have some huge games through the five games remaining on the Rams schedule.
