4 L.A. Rams players on training camp roster bubble
By Ryan Heckman
2. Camren McDonald, TE
Tight end is an interesting position as of late. Hunter Long has been dealing with a groin injury and was placed on the PUP list a couple of weeks ago. Also, rookie fifth-round pick Davis Allen is working his way through a hamstring injury. So, a couple of the reserve tight ends are facing a tough battle, currently.
Obviously, Tyler Higbee is the clear-cut starter and isn't going anywhere. But, behind him, there is certainly opportunity for others to step up and find their way onto the 53-man roster.
Nikola Kalinic is another name to watch, but he has zero career receptions in just one season, spending last year with the Colts. He is also having to compete with the recently-signed Camren McDonald who has already made some plays in his first couple of days with the Rams.
McDonald is an intriguing name to watch for the rest of camp, because he's a tough player. He brings the physicality and is not an easy guy to tackle. He can also be used as a blocker, but is best served as an inline blocker, as we've noted recently.
He'll have a tough battle ahead, but McDonald might just sneak his way onto the roster.
