Predicting where top 4 Los Angeles Rams free agents will sign in 2024
By Ryan Heckman
Carson Wentz, QB
Free agency prediction: Jacksonville Jaguars
Here's a wild one, for you. Although, it does make some sense. Last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed veteran quarterback C.J. Beathard to a two-year deal, but they can get out of it and save almost $2 million in doing so this offseason.
Current Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson knows Carson Wentz from their time together in Philadelphia. In fact, it was under Pederson where Wentz enjoyed the best years of his young career. Pederson found himself out of a job the year the Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts, and from there, it was a downward trend for Wentz.
Now, Wentz is still looking to further his career as a backup. In Jacksonville, he could reunite with Pederson and bring a sense of veteran leadership to that locker room. Not to mention, he and Trevor Lawrence share a lot in common between their values and lives off the field. The two of them would be a prime example of a starter and backup that share a strong bond.
Wentz would obviously be welcomed back in L.A. as a backup, too, but the Rams have also been rumored to be in on other quarterbacks whether it be a rookie, a trade or free agent. So, we'll see what they choose to do there.
