LA Rams rumors: Steelers fleece Rams, leaving Rams O crippled for 2023
By Bret Stuter
Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it. That mantra feels very applicable to the LA Rams right now, particularly in light of the fact that the Rams roster seems to be divesting of players even as other teams continue to add players. The latest Rams Rumors add to that fact, You see, the LA Rams signed veteran wide receiver Allen Robinson a year ago, hoping that he might be a solid second wide receiver for the Rams potent offense.
That never worked out, as the Rams offense never got Allen Robinson involved. While some may believe that Robinson didn't fit the Rams offensive format, there is evidence that it has been a growing problem for the team
Rams rumors headline NFL news today
Veteran wide receiver Robert Woods found his workload diminished significantly in the Rams offense before he fell to injury. It was that fact that ultimately led to the Rams trading him to the Tennessee Titans for next to nothing. Likewise, the Rams front office spent a very valuable second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft on wide receiver Tutu Atwell. But Atwell has never been incorporated into the Rams offense either. Was that on Atwell? It's hard to argue that point when, after other receivers fell to injury and were unavailable, Tutu Atwell showed up as a serviceable, if not outstanding, offensive weapon.
But the case for veteran wide receiver epitomizes the struggles of the LA Rams in 2022. The Rams front office did what the team has always done, isolated, identified, and acquired the most talented and available players. The problem is that once the Rams added Allen Robinson, the team really didn't know what to do with him.
In many ways, the Rams seemed to be so focused on re-signing veteran outside linebacker Von Miller that, upon failing to do so, scrambled to sign consolation prizes. The Rams added veteran ILB Bobby Wagner and veteran WR Allen Robinson after losing Miller to the Buffalo Bills. Now, if the Rams rumors are true, they are both gone just one year later.
