The Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Lakers may not play the same sport, but they do share the same sports fans, and both teams play for the same city. But even greater than that, there is a level of appreciation of professional athletes for athletes in other sports. That professional courtesy often extends to public awareness in any number of ways, but the cross-pollination of two different professional sports often leads to great quotes and highlights.

So let's visit the recent NBA All Star Celebrity game, one that featured LA Rams rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua as one of the competitors. But before we get to his highlights, let's set the stage for the event. If you do not follow the NBA, a player named Luka Doncic is an NBA All-Star, and is the point guard of the Dallas Mavericks. He is a scoring machine, currently averaging 34.2 points per game (20+ points per game is considered very good)

It was the similarity of their names, Puka Nacua vs Luka Doncic, that led to LeBron James awarding the perfect nickname for Rams WR Puka Nacua.

Puka Doncic is a perfect nickname, so how did Nacua look in the latest NBA All-Star Celebrity game? He did it all in the game.

Puka Doncic for the win

While you may view Puka Nacua as an elite NFL wide receiver (and you would be right to do so), he certainly showed that he deserves the nickname Puka Doncic for more than his NFL athleticism. In face, much of the pre-game hype was about Puka Nacua's basketball playing days.

Nacua was invited to play in the annual NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, and he showed up in style. He pumped in 16 points for Team Shannon to help them defeat Team Stephen A by a score of 100-91. For full game details, you can check out this link here.

It was a fun time, particularly for Rams fans who were able to see a new side of Nacu's athleticism showcased on a basketball court.
