With J.K. Dobbins done for the year, the Ravens trade for Cam Akers
It is another year and another wave of injuries for the Baltimore Ravens. It seems like the Ravens cannot escape injuries year-in and year-out, and once more it is running back J.K. Dobbins who is out for the season. This is the second major injury of Dobbins' career, unfortunately, and now the Ravens will likely be moving on in the future.
Behind Dobbins, the Ravens have veterans Gus Edwards and Justice Hill, who have both filled in admirably in the short interim. Edwards is more of the physical back who can get you the short yardage, while Hill offers much more in the passing game.
Baltimore is used to giving three running backs some touches, in one way or another though, and Akers would allow them to do that once more. Akers would undoubtedly be the most talented of all three, and likely wind up taking over starting duties.
In this deal, the Ravens give up a little more in a fifth-round pick, but also net a sixth rounder in return. Baltimore could be a legitimate Super Bowl contender this year, so they might want to ensure they get their guy if the interest is real.
