Los Angeles Rams get disrespected in ESPN's recent power rankings
The Los Angeles Rams already seem slept on for the 2024 NFL Season, and these recent power rankings from ESPN prove that. The Rams were one of the 14 best teams in the NFL last year and made the postseason. To follow that up, GM Les Snead clearly made a huge effort to improve the roster.
Shoring up the secondary and offensive line, along with trying to restock the defensive line have the Rams sitting in a great spot to explode in 2024. Matthew Stafford also ended the 2023 NFL Season quite strongly, so there is reason to believe he can continue to play well in 2024. Well, in recent power rankings from ESPN, they didn't seem to think too highly of the Rams, ranking them 14th in their power rankings.
"The Rams did a lot to improve their defensive front in the draft, but they still had Aaron Donald on their roster at the end of the 2023 season. Last season, Los Angeles had 10 interceptions -- tied for 23rd in the NFL. Improving the secondary was a focus during free agency and the draft, with the Rams signing cornerbacks Tre'Davious White and Darious Williams and safety Kamren Curl and selecting safety Kamren Kinchens in the fifth round. It's a confusing ranking to say the least, especially when teams like the Jaguars, Bills, and Eagles are ranked ahead of LA. What did those three teams do this offseason to be considered better than the Rams? The Bills had to shed a ton of talent to get cap-compliant. The Jaguars just simply aren't as good as the Rams, and the Eagles were quite the poor team down the stretch in 2023. Philly also doesn't have close to the talent at QB that the Rams do.
The Rams should be closer to 10th, if anything, but 14th is a bit too low and would bring them into the "average" category, which is simply false. You have to wonder what went through their heads when they decided to rank one of the best teams in the NFL right in the middle of the league.
