2. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
Air yards per attempt: 4.8
20-plus yard attempts: 18
30-plus yard attempts: 7
40-plus yard attempts: 2
50-plus yard attempts: 0
Stafford checks in at no. 2 in the division when it comes to air yards per target. If we were talking the Stafford of old, back in Detroit, we might be having a much different conversation. Back with the Lions, Stafford was known for airing it out. They had no choice on those offenses that featured little to no running game.
This year, he's taken quite a few shots. In fact, his 18 attempts of 20 yards or more are tied for second in the NFL just beneath Kirk Cousins and his 19. The Rams are an aggressive offense, and have been so even without Cooper Kupp. Sean McVay has not laid down whatsoever, even without one of the best wide receivers in the game.
Just for the sake of bragging on our guy, here, Stafford also ranks second in the NFL in passing yards with 1,229. Let's just hope we see a few more touchdowns in the near future.
