Trade Number 3: The Vikings admit they need help and trade for Cam Akers

Finally, we come to the third deal, this time with the Minnesota Vikings. Since releasing Dalvin Cook, the Vikings have been all-in on 2019 third-round pick Alexander Mattison. But, through two games, Mattison has looked like anything but the answer as the team's starting running back. He has ran it 19 times for a grand total of 62 yards (an average of just 3.3 per carry).

Now, to be fair, the Vikings' offensive line has also had their issues, which seems to be a common theme in Minnesota each year. But, with Mattison as the only halfway-serviceable running back in the room, Akers would make a lot of sense.

Through Week 2, Kirk Cousins is second in the NFL with 708 passing yards and is tied for first with six touchdown passes. It is more than evident that the Vikings have no problem throwing the football, especially with weapons like All Pro Justin Jefferson, rookie wideout Jordan Addison and Pro Bowl tight end T.J. Hockenson.

The issue for Minnesota has, and will continue to be, on the ground. Unless they find a starting-caliber running back and their offensive line picks things up, they will continue to have the same struggles. That's why Akers makes a ton of sense in Minnesota.
