He may be a wheeler-dealer, but come Day 3 of the NFL Draft, LA Rams GM Les Snead is a powerful wizard

The LA Rams and GM Les Snead have an unearned reputation for being unnecessarily willing to trade valuable draft picks for game-changing elite players. While that may have been the case in the past, the team has sinced reversed course and begun to retain, and use, those top picks. But what of the bargain basement shopping on Day 3 of the draft? Has that since begun to suffer with the team's attention turned to the early rounds of the draft?

Not at all. In fact, you could make an argument that the team has been on point since the 2022 NFL Draft. In 2022, the Rams found RB Kyren Williams in Round 5. In 2023, the Rams found WR Puka Nacua In Round 5. So who did the Rams find on Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft?

  • OLB Brennan Jackson - Washington State
  • DT Tyler Davis - Oklahoma
  • K Joshua Karty - Stanford
  • WR Jordan Whittington - Texas
  • C Beaux Limmer - Arkansas
  • OT KT Leveston - Kansas State

As of right now, all rookies drafted on Day 3 have a solid shot of making the initial 53-man LA Rams roster. But of that group, some have already flashed an upside to become an NFL starter sooner rather than later. At least, that is the logical conclusion of data shared by Pro Football Focus:

It seems as though the Rams still 'got it' in terms of finding diamonds in the rough.

As such, there is never a shortage of talent to develop and niche role players on this team. Even as rookie center Beaux Limmer is likely ready to start today, the team has him under contract for four years at a ridiculously inexpensive contract price.

To win NFL championships, teams need to have a significant number of players in that categrory. Thankfully, GM Les Snead keeps them coming.
