Rams 2025 NFL mock draft: Will the Matthew Stafford era come to an end?
17th Overall Pick - Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado
WOW! I am just shocked that Shedeur Sanders fell this low to the Los Angeles Rams at pick 17, and frankly, Matthew Stafford would have to understand why LA made this move, right? It's hard to pass up on Sanders, who is a legitimate first-round QB. For all the unwanted attention that his father and school bring, Sanders is a very good collegiate player.
There is also this report from the 2024 NFL Draft:
The LA Rams may already be thinking about life after Stafford, so the 2025 NFL Draft could be a good spot to make a move like this.
81st Overall Pick - Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
The LA Rams may also need a new left and right tackle. Josh Simmons from Ohio State has played both tackle positions, so whether they want to put him at RT to eventually replace Rob Havenstein, or put him at LT because Alaric Jackson doesn't continue to develop will be up to them. It is always appropriate to keep investing into the trenches.
The Rams have done that quite well over the last two offseasons with players like Jackson, Steve Avila, Jonah Jackson, Braden Fiske, Jared Verse, and others. There is no reason to stop this trend, either.
