Game 2 against the Los Angeles Chargers

While nothing had reached critical mass for the team in terms of injuries, the LA Rams fans clearly were saturated with bad news from the injury front. And those nerves were stuck once more in Game 2 as the Rams witnessed WR Xavier Smith, RB Zach Evans, and RB Botston Scott all shaken up during the game. Those bumps and bruises brough immediate reactions by fans on social media.

But for once, not all was at it seemed to be.

Swimming against the current was the fact that promising rookie center Beaux Limmer suited up once again, and played brilliantly against the Chargers defense. In fact, he formed the fulcrum of the interior of the offensive line, a masterpiece of blocking from LG Zach Thomas, C Beaux Limmer, and RG Logan Bruss. They played so well that should any of this trio be released to move to the team's practice squad, they will be immediately claimed on waivers.

Add to that is the fact that players who seemed to be shaken up in Game 2 did return to compete in the game. So, whatever the injuries were, the players were able to shake them off and come back to put on solid performances.

So depth has its bonuses, as well as its limits. This team must carry both Warren McClendon and Joe Noteboom on the 53-man roster with both Alaric Jackson and Rob Havenstein unable to suit up just yet. And so, the Rams will be forced to overload on offensive linemen, or risk valued players being scooped up by opposing teams as the roster is pared down to the 53-man limit for the upcoming season.
