The LA Rams followed suit as expected, and waived veteran RB Darrell Henderson Jr., presumably to make way for the return of RB Kyren Williams. But that was not the only transaction reported by the LA Rams, and with three such reports from the LA Rams, there are still more to come. So let's talk about the trio of Rams roster moves, and why we remain convinced that more moves will come.
The first transaction was somewhat expected. With the LA Rams prepared to welcome back RB Kyren Williams off IR, the Rams had to clear a slot on the 53-man roster. That meant that someone has to be released, and the most likely player to be released was RB Darrell Henderson Jr. Not only was Henderson signed to take over for Williams for the past four games, but Williams is essentially a younger version of Darrell Henderson.
But the Rams also pruned the practice squad by one player too. What are the Rams up to now?
The second transaction was partially expected. The Rams queue up feature running back Kyren Williams to return to the active Rams roster. But with him comes rookie defensive back Jason Taylor II, a young man who has not had any action this season.
That's going to complicate things. The LA Rams 53-man roster only cleared one slot, presumably for RB Kyren Williams to return to play in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals. If you recall, Williams gashed the Cardinals for 158 yards and one touchdown on 20 carries. The Rams would love to repeat that performance in a game that could improve their record to 5-6 and place the team within striking distance of an NFC playoff berth.
After Henderson cleared waivers, the LA Rams front office wasted no time in signing him to the practice squad. So what have all of the Rams roster moves done for the team?
- Returning from IR - RB Kyren Williams, rookie DB Jason Taylor II
- From active roster to practice squad - RB Darrell Henderson Jr.
- Cut from practice squad - DB Cameron McCutcheon
- Pending roster move not yet announced - Make room on Rams roster to activate Jason Taylor
With Williams returning to the Rams roster, will the team continue to feed RB Royce Freeman? Will the Rams activate rookie DB Jason Taylor II for Week 12? Which players will the Rams release to make room for Taylor going forward?
There are still several important questions in need of answers for the LA Rams heading into Week 12. Hopefully, Rams fans will get those answers. Better still, hopefully, fans will be pleased with the answers when they arrive.
