With their first selection in the first round, the Los Angeles Rams appear to have landed an absolute steal in Florida State's Jared Verse. Without ever taking a snap on the field for the Rams, fans are already loving what they're seeing from the first-rounder.

Verse became even more of a fan favorite when he said that he wasn't going to apologize for his loud and fiery attitude. Verse said, "That's who I am."

"“I’m not going to shy away from hiding who I am. This is who I am. I talk a lot. I’m loud. I’m vocal. You gonna hear me. I make a play, you gonna see me hyped up. That’s just who I am. I can’t hide it. I’m not gonna pull back from anybody.”"

Jared Verse is saying all the right things

With Aaron Donald riding off into the retirement sunset this offseason, the Rams defense will look different than what fans are used to. A new leader will have to emerge to lead the group and while Verse is only a rookie, he's saying everything that you'd want to have a young player saying before he's ever taken a professional snap.

Verse had 9.0 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss during his final season at Florida State and the Rams are looking forward to sticking him into their pass rush and seeing if he can be that same wrecking ball he was in college. This defense might look different in 2024 but if Verse can live up to what he's preaching, he could end up being a special player for this team.
