Rams Mock Draft: Full 7-rounds eclipses others by filling hidden roster holes
By Bret Stuter
With the 254th overall pick in Round 7, the LA Rams select
Cam Little, kicker out of Arkansas. Little stands 6-foot-1 and weighs 172 pounds. At any other position, that would flag concerns of durability. But as a kicker, that is pretty much par for the course. Some may urge the team to make a kicker selection sooner in this draft, but the Rams show restraint, counting on a kicker to fall to them in Round 7. In this mock draft, that gamble pays off.
Little has solid accuracy, hitting 83+ percent in 2023, and kicking 80 percent from a distance of 50+ yards. He falls to the Rams in Round 7 because 40-49 yards proved to be his kryptonite in 2023 (made five of seven for 71.4 percent). His longest kick was 56 yards.
Little is one of the top kickers in this draft class. Unfortunately, like all rookie kickers, he will sometimes struggle in his rookie season. The Rams will have competition in training camp, as Tanner Brown will be back. Little has a solid shot to win the starting kicker role for the team. But I am eager to see how the competition plays out.
Summary
While the team may not address all roster holes in the sequence that fans demand, this draft class is a solid upgrade to the roster in many areas, and where the players may not compete for immediate starts, they possess enough talent to earn rotational roles or contribute on special teams.

Not every player selected in the 2024 NFL Draft will be home runs. But this mock adds 13 rookie prospects who are passionate, talented, and eager to compete. Several from this group will be in the running for unexpected starting roles.
I am particularly happy with depth on the offensive line, an area that needs to be addressed but has not gotten much help in previous mocks. Even the Edge position, not formally addressed until Day 3, adds quality talent who will compete for playing time.
