When the LA Rams selected former Florida State rookie outside linebacker with the 19th overall pick, the choice to address the team's pass rush came as no surprise. After all, the Ramns did not boast an exceptionally productive pass rush in 2023, and they had already lost All-Pro DT Aaron Donald to retirement. Compounding the matter even more, the team did not sign any pass rush help throughout the 2024 NFL Free Agency market.

So it was up to the 2024 NFL Draft to add depth and talent to a depleted group for this team And Florida State's Jared Verse checked all of the boxes in terms of talent, complete fulfillment of all responsibilities of the role, and a genuine passion and energy level for the game. So, with that 19th overall pick, the Rams added Jared Verse to the roster.

Of course, drafting a player and then signing that player are two different actions altogether. While the signing of rookies to their first NFL contracts have become far less critical than previous eras, when rookies signed to whatever the market could and would bear, the matter of compensation negotiation remains a bit give and take, particularly for players who are selected in Round 1 of the NFL Draft.

Thankfully, the Rams have signed Verse to his first NFL contract, and the details are a clear display of why this contract was negotiated over a significant period of time. The contract includes guarantees, roster bonuses for training camp reporting, and no offsets on all guaranteed compensation.

Here are the basic details and confirmation of his contract signing:

While no announcements have been reported, the team's official website no longer lists any players as drafted but unsigned. If true, then all players are under contract with the Rams, and the front office can pivot to extensions and assessments of projected needs for the 2025 Rams roster.

Another roster restocking is in the record books. As always, thanks for reading.
