Rams undervalued by oddsmakers in opening 2024 win total odds
After winning the Super Bowl in 2021, the Los Angeles Rams took a step back the next season with a 5-12 record and a third-place finish in the NFC West.
Going into last season, the Rams had a win total (over/under) of just 6.5 games without a lot of optimism. Despite a 3-6 start and questions surrounding the future of quarterback Matthew Stafford and head coach Sean McVay, the Rams rallied at the bye week.
Los Angeles surged at the end of the regular season, winning seven of its last eight games to reach the NFC Playoffs as a wild card. The Rams came up short to the Detroit Lions in the first round of the postseason (covering as 3.5-point underdogs in a 24-23 defeat), but there’s still hope for LA’s NFC franchise for the first time since hoisting the Lombardi Trophy.
That hope hasn’t been reflected by oddsmakers, though.

Los Angeles Rams undervalued by 2024 win total
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Rams have a 2024 win total of 8.5 (-124/+102). That puts Los Angeles in the middle of the pack in the NFL heading into this season.
Given the Rams’ track record, the total seems a bit low for a team that has won nine or more games in six of the seven years with McVay as the head coach. The Rams may have lost perennial All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald to retriement, but the LA offense still returns the focal points of last year's unit.
That includes Stafford under center, a great receiving tandem of Cooper Kupp and Puca Nakua and running back Kyren Williams, who helped turn around the Rams' season in 2023.
In the NFC West, the Rams are, as expected, the underdog behind the reigning NFC-champion San Francisco 49ers. San Francisco is tied with Kansas City for the highest 2024 win total (11.5). Elsewhere in the division, the Seattle Seahawks have a win total of 7.5 and Arizona at 6.5.
The 49ers are big favorites to repeat as NFC West champions (-230) while the Rams are +440, which carries an implied probability of 18.52% that Los Angeles will win the division for the first time since its Super Bowl season.
According to FanDuel, the Rams are projected to be a wild card team this season and are seventh on the odds board at +1400 to win the NFC for the second time in four seasons.
