The Los Angeles Rams are still in the mix in the NFC but they need to string together some wins as we enter the meat of the 2023 season.

In Week 8, they hit the road to take on the Dallas Cowboys, and I think they have a real shot to pull off the upset. I'll break down why I think that at the conclusion of this article.

Rams vs. Cowboys key players to watch

Los Angeles Rams

Matthew Stafford: The Rams clearly have a ton of talent on the offensive side of the football, but Matthew Stafford has held them back at times. He's completing just 59.8% of passes and has six interceptions on the season, which has led to a couple of tough losses. With that being said, if Stafford can become efficient, the sky is the limit for the Rams.

Dallas Cowboys

Tony Pollard: The Cowboys running back hasn't lived up to expectations this season. They traded away Ezekiel Elliott and handed the backfield to Tony Pollard, but he's averaged just 3.9 yards per carry on the season. If he can step it up, he'll be a nice compliment to the Cowboys pass attack.

Rams vs. Cowboys prediction and pick

Not only do I think the Rams will cover the spread as underdogs, but I think they can win outright.

This is a Cowboys team that has already lost to the Cardinals and were steamrolled by the 49ers. Why can't they lose to the Rams as well? They're a middling team statistically, ranking 14th in the league in Net Yards per Play at 0.0, while the Rams rank ninth in that stat at +0.4.

As long as the Rams' offense stays healthy, they're going to be a dangerous team for any opponent. I think they'll upset the Cowboys on Sunday and win this game outright.
