The LA Rams may have been very active in the 2024 NFL Free Agency market, but that is not to say that the team satisfied all of the team's roster needs, or that the team spent wisely. Free agency, like the NFL draft, is part science and part art. The science is data collection, then determining which data points should be relied upon for the decision process.

The art comes in the interpretation and application phase. Will a free agent perform on the Rams roster? Will they fit the team's culture? How appropriate is adding that player to the team in terms of locker room fit? Perhaps most importantly, how well can the team project that player's production into the new season?

Even as the team is reforming for the 2024 NFL season, the roster remains thin on the defensive front. For the outside linebackers on the team, there are enough bodies but not enough production. Of course, with 11 draft picks and selecting in Round 1 for the first time since 2016, that is to be expected. The team will address the roster during and after the 2024 NFL Draft, and when the front office has completed their 90 man roster, then it is time to judge how well the team has been reconstructed.

Still, we can see who was signed during the Rams free agency shopping spree, and who was not. Did the team choose wisely? In many areas, the team addressed a vital position with a highly regarded NFL player at or below the ongoing market price. But we have studied the team's strategy so far, and expect that the Rams will second-guess not making these six free-agent deals:
