When you think about the history of the Rams, you typically think offense.

Fans will be quick to remember some of the more potent offenses in the league, over the last 25 years, coming through this organization.

And, many times, those offenses began at the running back position. The Rams' history at running back is a star-studded cast, but it's somewhat difficult to put their top five in order. We try to do just that, starting with a more recent name.

5. Todd Gurley

What a flash in the pan Todd Gurley was, but my goodness, was this guy fun. Gurley spent just five years with the Rams, from 2015 to 2019. The former first-round pick quickly became arguably the best all-around running back in the league before his career abruptly came to a halt due to injuries.

But, what Gurley was able to accomplish in such a short time should put him in the top five, no doubt. He sits sixth all-time in rushing yards with 5,404, just behind fullback Dick Bass. But, Gurley also scored 58 rushing touchdowns, which is tied with Marshall Faulk for the most in team history.

The 2015 first-round pick was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All Pro, helping Sean McVay and that offense make it all the way to the first of two early Super Bowl appearances for the young head coach. After his lone season with the Atlanta Falcons in 2020, Gurley's NFL career was effectively over. But, he took Rams fans on some wild rides for a handful of years.
