Stafford made this Texans star's day today

While we typically focus on the news that is exclusively about the LA Rams football team, this developing story has enough of an LA Rams edge to include in today's story about Matthew Stafford. You see, at the joint practice between the Rams and the Houston Texans, it turns out that Texans second-year star quarterback CJ Stroud has been a huge fan of Matthew Stafford for some time.

And Stroud had the chance to share his experience to meet and talk to his 'hero' during the joint practice today:

In Stroud's own words, he was able to speak with Matthew Stafford about the NFL and ask his advice. Curiously, NFL players ignore the teams that each other play for. This is a fraternity, a brotherhood of mutual respect. And that is how it should be. Players do not have autonomous control over which team they play for. Even in those rare cases when players demand to be traded and are afforded official permission to seek said trade, deals may never come to fruition.

Players often understand that, and treat one another out of mutual respect. Today's foes could be tomorrow's teammates. So how did Stafford describe his encounter with one of his fans, CJ Stroud?

It's the epitome of paying it forward. When Matthew Stafford started out, he had the opportunity to play against and meet quarterbacks like Peyton Manning and Brett Favre. Now he is the veteran quarterback, and he is being approached by young quarterbacks. The great thing is, he takes in all in stride., as he should.
