Star wide receiver falls to the Rams in ESPN's latest 2025 NFL mock draft

You can never have too many great wide receivers, right?

You may think the Rams are set at wide receiver. That Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Demarcus Robinson are about as good a trio of guys as you can ask for. You may even still have high hopes for TuTu Atwell! But none of that is going to stop the Rams from drafting another wide receiver next year – according to ESPN's latest mock draft, at least.

They dropped a big first round mock this week, and I'll save you the Command+F+Rams routine: they do, in fact, take a wide receiver in the first round. Don't panic! They obviously won't need defensive help after all of this past year's picks pan out exactly as planned, duh. Say hello to the next, next, next great Rams wideout!

Rams take Missouri WR Luther Burden III in latest ESPN mock draft

"Frankly, this feels too low for Burden, as he's a joy to watch on tape and ranks 13th on my preseason board. He is a powerful, physical route runner who is a menace with the football in his hands. His first six games alone last season made for a quality stat line for a full year: 54 catches, 793 yards and five touchdowns. It's easy to envision Nacua and him together for a long time in L.A."

Not only did the Rams get another first-round talent, but they got a guy that fell to them! Even when Les Snead decides to indulge that annoying "using your draft picks" trend, he knocks it out of the park. And you're right, ESPN – it is easy to imagine Burden and Nacua together for a long time in LA. You really get us, ESPN.

This will change 100 times before it actually becomes time to start taking mock drafts seriously, but if every single Rams mock between now and next April wanted to only focus on great players who fall into the team's lap, I'd be OK with it. Otherwise it's just going to be the weirdest Draft Day Matt Stafford trade ideas you've ever seen, and no one wants that.
