Inability to stop Dallas Goedert

Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert had his best game of the season so far against the LA Rams. In fact, he had his season high for yards and receptions in the Eagles' first drive of the game. To add insult to injury, Goedert finished with more yards this week than he has had all season combined. Furthermore, he finished with a season-high in touchdowns and yards per reception. The Eagles were able to exploit the Rams' weak linebacker core which is why Goedert was so successful.

The Rams will not always be up against top tight ends, but this is worrisome when the Rams have to face Arizona Cardinals TE Zach Ertz in Week 6 and when they face Baltimore Ravens TE Mark Andrews, Washington Commanders TE Logan Thomas, and New York Giants TE Darren Waller.

DB Kendrick penalties

So I have made my concerns known when it comes to Rams' DB Derion Kendrick in the past. Just when I was about to say he has proven me wrong with his coverage, he potentially costs the Rams another game. We all remember his penalties that led to a score for the San Francisco 49ers right?

If not, well the penalties from the Eagles game should give you a pretty good picture of how it went then. Kendrick allowed a huge reception to Eagles WR A.J. Brown and proceeded to tackle him with a horse collar tackle adding another 15 yards to the end of the play. To make things worse, on the very next play, Kendrick proceeded to commit a defensive pass interference penalty in the endzone putting the Eagles on the one-yard line, which directly led to an Eagles touchdown.

I understand he is still a young DB in this league, but costly penalties have now potentially cost the Rams not one, but two very winnable games against two of the best teams in the NFC. The question is, do we continue to be patient with him and hope he learns, or do we give another young buck a chance and through in Tre Tomlinson?
