The latest LA Rams 2024 NFL Draft picks

Okay, the LA Rams have emerged from the 2023 NFL Draft with 14 rookies prospects, and now the question becomes when and how often do these Rams pick in next year's 2024 NFL Draft? That's what we are about to discuss. After all, for the first time since the Rams hired head coach Sean McVay in 2017, the Rams are actually scheduled to make a draft pick on Day 1 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

And if you are truly solely focused on the 2024 NFL Draft, you may be delighted to know that Tankathon.com has the Rams projected to make the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Of course, I would not get too set on selecting so early, as that presumes that the Rams' 2023 NFL season will finish worse than the 2022 NFL season record at 5-12.

While the order in each round for the draft picks has yet to be established, the Rams will hold six picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, one in each of the first six rounds:

• Round 1 – The Rams hold their first-round pick
• Round 2– The Rams hold their second-round pick
• Round 3 – The Rams hold their third-round pick
• Round 4 – The Rams hold their fourth-round pick
• Round 5 – The Rams hold their fifth-round pick
• Round 6 - TRADE: The Rams traded their sixth-round pick to the Buffalo Bills
• Round 6 – The Rams have obtained the Denver Broncos-sixth round pick
• Round 7 - TRADE: The Rams traded their seventh-round pick to the Broncos
• Total 2024 Draft Picks - 6

The Rams held two sixth-round picks prior to the 2023 NFL Draft but agreed to surrender one of two sixth-round picks to move up from 252 to 215 in the draft in order to select Ole Miss running back Zach Evans. While the trade above shows with the Rams' Round 6 pick, the terms of the trade are likely the lesser of the Rams' Round 6 pick or the Broncos' Round 6 pick.

Okay, so six picks in the 2024 NFL Draft does not 'feel,' like a large number, Fortunately, the projections for the awarded compensatory for the 2024 NFL Draft have been updated by OverTheCap.com, and the LA Rams are projected to be awarded four compensatory picks:

Round 5 - TBD
Round 6 - Two picks (Gay to Colts, Mayfield to Bucs)
Round 7 - Two picks (Scott to Bengals, Robinson to Giants)

While there is a growing consensus that the Rams could target a top-tier quarterback with the 2024 NFL Draft, if the Rams pick among the Top-5 in the draft, the team will end up with an opportunity to select an elite prospect at some foundational position.

Perhaps the Rams 2023 NFL season will be better than many expect. But if it's not, the LA Rams will have an incredible opportunity to restock their roster with seriously talented rookie prospects next season.
