Full feud is now underway
Even to this point in time, the smouldering coals of disputed between Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett and Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy may have gone the way of two persons who do not see eye to eye simply walking away from one another and that would be the end of it.
But that is not where this tale ends. After all, the key to promoting an event like the Reese's Senior Bowl is to promote at every opportunity. And so, that promotion led to commentary which led to more commentary.
This part of the tale starts with the phenomenon known as Baby Gronk, a.k.a. Madden San Miguel, who has been earning tons of cash for his parents by playing the role of a 10-year-old child football prodigy. But where do we draw the line? I don't have the answer, but many cringed at this video of Baby Gronk's video broadcast by Barstool Sports:
Here we have Baby Gronk’s dad feeding him answers on the Bring the Juice pod. Hey kid, blink twice if you’re tired of being dad’s clout bait pic.twitter.com/UltW1vCYTB

And it has been the popularity of this young 10 year old that prompted Senior Bowl Executive Director Jim Nagy to weigh in about the fact that grooming a child for a future in the NFL has almost no impact compared to their size, strength, athleticism, and coaching in their life to prepare them to compete in football at a professional level.
One more volley
But that opened the door once more, this time the commentary came from Stetson Bennett, and highlighted what may have been a faux pas by Nagy by commenting on the matter:
The Senior Bowl's executive director posted a long tweet about the relevance of preparing kids to play pro football at a young age. Rams QB Stetson Bennett had an aggressive response. There's a history there. https://t.co/PLqlNoUizc

How did Bennett do that exactly? He directly responded to a Tweet by Jim Nagy in a very confrontational manner. The original Nagy Tweet has since been deleted.
“Rarely matters when you start grooming your kids.” Thank you for the overarching parental advice, Jim. Perhaps parents with dreams for their kids, or kids with dreams in general, should only listen to you, master king of talent evaluation. Lol- a scout who saw an opportunity… https://t.co/QBc7a0lGes

Chaos? Controversy? Or simply the conditions of modern society that values likes and retweets more than sound advice and personal relationships. At the end of the day, I don't think that Jim Nagy and Stetson Bennett will ever exchange greeting cards for holidays or birthday wishes.
To succeed in the NFL, a quarterback needs to be ultra confident. But quarterbacks also need to make great decisions, maintain their composure, and approach each game, each day, each play with level-headedness. I will leave it to the reader to determine where on the spectrum to place Stetson Bennett right now.
The LA Rams selected Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett with the 126th overall pick in Round 4 of the 2023 NFL Draft. And Stetson Bennett was the first quarterback drafted by the tandem of LA Rams GM Les Snead and HC Sean McVay. Was he the right choice?
Next. 2 consecutive SB rings. This former LA Rams player now boasts two consecutive SB rings. dark
Time will tell . . .
