This is Raheem Morris' time to shine

Anyone can draw Xs and Os on a whiteboard. Anyone can stroll across the practice field, whistling, shouting, and barking out orders to "Do it again, this time with some passion." But the thing is, NFL players know that too. And no NFL team is going to find even a remote chance of success without a belief in the coaching staff, the game plan, and the passion that each coach brings to the football team.

But for the Rams, and the 40+ rookies who stepped onto the practice field in OTAs and the Rams Training Camp, this was more than just persuading young football players to follow instructions and do what they were told to do. These young minds had to feel the passion, had to know that it was okay to try, and fail. They had to realize that laughter was more than welcome in the Rams organization, that it was a prerequisite.

Most of all, the small army of new fresh faces who were experiencing the NFL for the first time had to hold respect, admiration, and a genuine like for the Rams coaching staff. And Raheem Morris was there to greet each and every one of them. Not to lay down the law, but in a truly respectful and warm-hearted way that left each new rookie feeling more than special.

Raheem Morris left each player believing that Morris truly depended on him to help the Rams succeed in 2023. Morris valued his players and cheered them on like a close uncle. And the Rams' young rookies responded in an unprecedented way. They not only helped to carry the Rams to the 2024 NFL Playoffs, but many outperformed veterans along the way.

The Raheem Morris story has been unfolding for several weeks, and we have done our best to keep readers apprised of developments every step of the way.

In a recent article that reviewed the teams that made the most sense to hire Raheem Morris, we had this to say about the Atlanta Falcons:

"The Falcons are in a solid spot. With a record of 7-10, the Falcons are not far from competing in post-season play. But to forge a team that can clear that hurdle requires a new head coach who can reach the young players on that Falcons roster.

Who better than Raheem Morris?"

Ramblin Fan, Bret Stuter

The Atlanta Falcons are not far removed from competing in the NFL Playoffs. Even with a record of 7-10, the Falcons lost six games by one score or less. And the Atlanta Falcons, much like the 2023 LA Rams, were a team that was built upon many young contributors, not a handful of NFL superstars.

As of right now, Spotrac.,com projects the Falcons to have 57 players under contract for 2024, and to have nearly $30 million in available salary cap space to spend. Per Tankathon.com, the Atlanta Falcons are projected to hold seven draft picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, including the eighth overall pick.

The Atlanta Falcons have the resources to make their move in 2024. All the team needs is someone who knows the way. Raheem Morris has been there before, and is the perfect head coach to guide the Falcons organization to the promised land.
